Resident Evil 7's demo could get a third update in January 2017, final game will be about 15 hours long

Resident Evil 7 was announced at E3 earlier this year and just a few hours after its announcement, a demo popped up on the PlayStation Store. The demo was fairly short and seemed fairly straight forward, escape the house you were trapped in. The more players dug, however, the more questions and mysteries were created. There was a strange finger, fully designed rooms that players couldn't get into, an axe that had no real purpose, and much more. For over a month, players tried to figure out why these things were here but no one could figure out why. Most eventually gave up on searching for answers, that was until Capcom released an update to the demo last month.
The update basically answered none of our questions and actually gave us more questions! The updated gave us access to a previously locked off room which was filled with things like cryptic messages on the wall, bullets that you could pick up, a key, another exit out of the house (you can't open the exit though), and much more. Players became frustrated that Capcom was just trick players to believe there was more to it than meets the eye, but in reality it was just a sleazy way to market the game.
Now, it seems like Capcom may be releasing a THIRD update to their demo! A representative from Capcom France has claimed the demo will be updated in January 2017, right before the game releases on January 24th. Sometimes these PR reps can be misinformed (but they also sometimes spill information they aren't supposed to talk about), but it does add up. It does seem a third update will come at some point and it would make sense to update the demo right at the peak of the game's hype.
In addition to that, Capcom also said that the final game will be about 15 hours long for players playing without VR. VR players could take as long as 25-30 hours to play the game, possibly due to exploring in the immersive VR mode or being so scared that the player decides to play at a slower pace. The game will also release several pieces of DLC that will expand the game's length by 8 hours.
Resident Evil 7 will release on January 24th, 2017 for Xbox One, PC, and PS4 with PSVR support.
