You do get a £10 voucher as well and the added bonus of a tablet that can convert into a laptop (and vice versa). It has an 11.6-inch HD display, an Intel Pentium CPU, 4GB of RAM and a 500GB hard disk drive. Despite its diminutive size, it does have four physical connectors as well.

A cracking deal on a laptop that doesn't lack firepower. Its biggest asset though is its ability to transform into a tablet, albeit a rather big one. Open it up and its components are more than adequate for what it costs. You get an Intel Core i5 (Broadwell), 6GB of RAM, a 500GB hard disk drive, a 13.3-inch HD touchscreen display and Asus's very own SonicMaster sound solution.

Since our former Ultrabook favourite, the UX305, has gone AWOL, this model has emerged as the next best thing. It comes with roughly the same configuration (full HD display, Core M CPU, 8GB of RAM) but swaps the 128GB SSD on the UX305 for one double the size. Expect up to 7.5 hours battery life, all wrapped up in a chassis that's just 16mm thick.

It comes with an Intel Core i5 (fifth generation, Broadwell) with 4GB of RAM and a 500GB hard disk drive. It does have a spill resistant keyboard with a dedicated numeric keypad and a 15.6-inch display as well. Nothing spectacular but still a great price.
8. Toshiba L50-C-T1 Satellite laptop

You might get a more powerful laptop for that kind of money but few, if any, will come with as much onboard memory or storage, for this Toshiba notebook has 8GB of RAM and a gargantuan 2TB hard disk drive. Add in a HD display, a dedicated numeric keypad, a pair of Skullcandy speakers coupled with DTS sound technology and you have a great all-rounder with a penchant for entertainment. Oh and you also get a £10 voucher.

This is not a misprice. This laptop is on sale for less than £170 and unlike most laptops under the £200 price range, it is not Atom or Celeron-based. Indeed, it features an Intel Pentium N3540 CPU. As expected, the rest of the configuration has been pared down: there's 2GB of RAM, a 32GB eMMC, a 14-inch display and speakers with larger chamber for better sound quality.
10. Acer CB5-571 Chromebook

Chromebooks rarely come in XL size but this one sports a 15.6-inch HD display. And since it is on sale at JL, you get two-year warranty on it by default. Under the hood, there's an Intel dual-core Celeron CPU, the Haswell version, 2GB of RAM, 32GB eMMC and a battery that can power the device for up to nine hours. At 2.2Kg it is a bit heavy but the 100GB Google Drive cloud storage (for two years) will sure sweeten the deal.
